Tapia Travel Scholarships for undergrads, grad students, and faculty

Are you the next Richard Tapia? Aside from being an expert in Computational and Applied Mathematics, Professor Richard Tapia is the first Latino elected to the National Academy of Engineering and has pioneered programs that expose underrepresented students to careers in computational and applied mathematics. The Tapia Conference, named after Professor Tapia, is an annual conference that aims to promote and celebrity diversity in computing.

This year’s Tapia Conference will be held September 18-21, 2019 in sunny San Diego, California.
The Tapia Conference truly has something for everyone!

Whether you are an undergraduate student that has just taken your first CS class or a tenured faculty member who teaches CS you’ll leave the conference inspired with a deeper appreciation for diversity in computing.

Do you want to go to the National Society of Black Engineers Conference?  Google is providing travel scholarships for undergraduates, graduate students and and professionals interested in attending the 45th Annual NSBE Conference to be held March 27-31, 2019 in Detroit, Michigan.

Founded in 1971, the National Society of Black Engineers was created at Purdue University as a student organization to help improve the recruitment and retention of black engineering students. Today NSBE is a global organization with 17,000 members with over 500 active chapters across the world.
